We believe that every child deserves the best possible start in life and the support that enables them to fulfil their potential. We aim to provide a safe and secure environment in which children thrive and flourish. Children learn by playing and exploring, being active, and through creative and critical thinking which takes place both inside and outside our school buildings. Our curriculum follows the Early Years Foundation Stage Framework, which sets out seven areas of learning and development through which children learn new skills, acquire new knowledge and demonstrate their understanding.

They are:

  • Communication and language
  • Physical development
  • Personal, social and emotional development
  • Literacy
  • Mathematics
  • Understanding the world
  • Expressive arts and design

These areas guide us as we plan learning experiences in response to children’s individual interests and developmental needs.

We believe that parents are the child’s first and most enduring educators, and we work closely in partnership with parents so that together we can support children’s development and learning.
