Calling all SPPS children and their families to a very special assembly tomorrow!

Tomorrow (Thursday 18th June 2020), the Duchess of Cambridge will lead an online assembly for the Oak National Academy during which she will speak about the importance of mental wellbeing among children. The theme of the Duchess’ assembly is ‘spread a little kindness’ and is based on a lesson plan which is available on the Mentally Healthy Schools platform. This platform was developed in collaboration with children’s mental health charity Place2Be and encourages children to explore ways in which they can show kindness and recognise the benefits of kindness to others.

The Mentally Healthy Schools platform can be accessed here:

The assembly will be live on the Oak National Academy website at 11am on Thursday 18 June and can be accessed here:

A recording of the assembly will be available to view on the Oak National Academy website following the event.

How to put your coat on!

Calling on nursery and reception children for a little big of magic!  How to put your coat on independently. First put it on the floor with the inside looking at you. Next stand behind the hood and jump out. Then slide your arms into the holes and whoosh! Flip it over your head!

Bristol Museums – Lockdown Activities for Families

Bristol Museums and Art Galleries have planned some exciting, creative activities on a different theme each week and have something for everyone to keep you entertained from afar.

Whether you’re a thinker, a maker, a painter, a baker, a scientist, a writer or just plain old bored, they’d love for you to get involved and share your creations with them.

The themes they have in store:

  • Family – from 1 June
  • Creepy-crawlies – from 8 June

Check in on their Facebook pages for Bristol Museum & Art Gallery and M Shed and our Instagram each day for hands-on activities around the themes.
