New Caretaker of the Year Award

In October 2016, we were all very proud when our school caretaker Val Knight won the ‘Caretaker of the Year’ award.  Many of our school community will have fond memories of Val, who was an exceptional lady.  In her honour, a new award has been created, the ‘Val Knight New School Caretaker of the Year Award’ and we were delighted when Mrs Jelf, our school bursar was invited to present the award to its very first recipient; members of Val’s family also attended the ceremony.  We are so proud and pleased that Val will continue to be remembered in this special way.

Football at Stoke Park

Well done to Stoke Park football team who played in a football round-robin at Headley Park School. All the boys had great spirt and showed how brilliant we can be when we work as a team.

Remembrance Day at the Memorial Ground

Year 6 were invited to take part in the Remembrance Service at the Memorial Ground today. They laid a wreath alongside other invited visitors to remember the sacrifice made by so many who lost their lives during times of war. The children were a credit to the school – well done Year 6.

Following the clues

Today we followed clues left around the school about our new story in Literacy. We found straw, sticks and bricks. It must be … The Three Little Pigs! We are going to change the story to include robots and then write our own versions.

Remarkable Robots in Year 2

To kick start our topic in Year 2 we’ve been busy making robots. We used our creative skills to make many different robots. Some can cook our breakfast and others have clocks to wake us up!

Shape hunters

Year 1’s new topic in Maths in Shape. We became shape hunters today and went out onto the playground. We searched high and low for shapes and took photographs when we found them. We’re looking forward to learning more about 2D and 3D shapes and their properties!
