Stoke Park School were really lucky yesterday because we had an exciting visit from a Rugby Coach from Clifton Rugby Club. The coach ran tag rugby sessions throughout the day with every year group. Each session was full of games and skills for the children to practice. It was fantastic! I was lucky enough to watch Oak Class (Y5) taking part, and it was clear to see the children were having so much fun getting to know the sport.
“It was amazing! I want to do it again!” Said Poppy (Y5).
Clifton Rugby Club players will be running an after school rugby club at SPP every Tuesday. The letters went out yesterday, so please don’t forget to sign up if this is something your child might be interested in!
Thank you to all the children, parents and staff who joined in this mornings Wake and Shake on the playground. It was a fantastic way to kick start the day and there were lots of smiley happy faces walking in to school this morning. A big thanks to Mrs Dennison for putting on such a fab routine. Same time, same place next week!
Welcome to Year 5! We’ve already kicked off this week with a bang – delving deep in Ancient Greece, learning all about the famous Greek Myth, “Theseus and The Minotaur” and exploring numbers up too 1 000 000!
Please find our Term 1 Newsletter , Topic overview and Spellings attached below.
Homework is given to the children every Monday and due in the following Monday. Generally, this will consist of things we have been learning either in literacy, maths, reading or science. I will explain the homework to the children, but if they are still unsure please make sure they come and see me, or if you would like please pop in and I can explain!
Thank you for all your continued support. It’s going to be a great year!
Miss Donoghue.
