Nursery and Reception Farm Trip

We got up close and personal to some wonderful farm animals today at Court Farm Country Park. Not only did we see new born lambs, help feed the friendly cows but also watched farmer Pete milk a cow! The falling snow added to this magical experience and I am sure the children will remember this trip for a very long time.

KS1 trip to Clifton Suspension Bridge

Today KS1 visited the Clifton Suspension Bridge. We learnt all about Isambard Kingdom Brunel at the Visitor Centre. We heard lots of funny stories, including one about the time he played a trick and accidently swallowed a coin! We sang a song about his life and had a ‘best bridge’ competition. Afterwards, we walked across the bridge, taking in the view from both sides. We then drew what we could see, before setting off back to school on the coach!

RSPB in for a flying visit

Today KS1 had a visit from volunteers at the RSPB. We shared a story ‘The Snail and the Whale’, which helped us to think about the life of a snail. We then became a class of snails and went outdoors, thinking about what life must be like as a snail. We hunted for fellow snails and other creatures hiding in our school garden. We collected some natural treasures, and began to share exciting adjectives to describe our finds. Thank you RSPB for a wonderful morning outside.
