Oak class assembly

Thank you to all the members of Oak Class who made our assembly special yesterday (and to the parents who made it too!). Here are a range of photos of the work we displayed. I hope we can keep up this super level of work for the rest of the year. čÖé

Tricky Calculations!

Last week, Year 6 tackled some tricky maths problems related to short and long multiplication. They were able to discuss their understanding and related the value of the digits to their understanding of their place value unit!

This week, we have begun looking at the short method for┬ádivision. We discussed how it is the inverse of multiplication but that our knowledge of our times tables can actually help us to divide! Tomorrow’s challenge will be to learn the method for long division. I am sure that we will report back on how┬ábrilliantly we have been able to learn this soon!
